Description
Arcam CD25 Compact Disc Player | 50th Anniversary Edition
The Arcam CD25 brings the company’s experience in Compact Disc playback to a new Radia Series player, introduced in Arcam’s 50th anniversary year. Designed for a dedicated stereo system, it combines a dual mono DAC architecture, a low noise linear power supply and a vibration damped disc mechanism. Balanced XLR and RCA analogue outputs give you a choice of connections to your amplifier, while optical and coaxial outputs allow connection to an external DAC.
A Dedicated Player for Your CD Collection
Arcam’s CD heritage began with the Delta 70 in 1986. The CD25 builds on that experience with a design developed through both objective measurement and extensive blind listening tests. It is intended to sit alongside Radia Series amplifiers, with a glass front panel, OLED display and metal chassis that match the range.
Dual Mono Digital Conversion
Independent conversion for the left and right channels helps maintain stereo separation while keeping noise low. The CD25 uses two ESS ES9039Q2M DAC chips with ESS reference voltage regulators, with each channel processed in balanced mode. A linear power supply provides a stable electrical foundation for the audio circuitry.
The disc mechanism is mounted on a vibration damping internal structure to reduce mechanical interference during playback. Together, the transport, power supply and conversion stages are designed to retrieve the detail recorded on your discs without adding unnecessary noise.
Disc Playback and System Connections
Alongside standard audio CDs, the CD25 supports CD-R and CD-RW discs containing audio or compatible data files. WAV, FLAC, MP3 and AAC playback is supported, with WAV and FLAC files at sampling rates up to 96kHz and bit depths up to 24 bit.
Use the balanced XLR or stereo RCA outputs to connect to an amplifier’s compatible line input. If you prefer to use your system’s own digital conversion, the optical and coaxial digital outputs provide that option. A remote control with two AAA batteries is supplied, together with the mains lead, Quick Start Guide and safety instructions.
