Featuring the same 12th Generation Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) as the R Series stereo models for perfect tonal matching, and twin powerful 6.5-inch hybrid aluminium bass drivers, the R6 Meta delivers an immersive listening experience that brings movies vividly to life and reproduces music with a dynamic, detailed, and thrillingly natural character. Metamaterial Absorption Technology for Pure, Natural Sound
The R6 Meta incorporates KEF’s Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), which absorbs 99% of the unwanted rearward sound energy produced by the tweeter that would otherwise introduce coloration and distortion into the acoustic output. By eliminating this source of interference at its origin within the driver itself, MAT allows the R6 Meta to deliver a purity and naturalness of sound that is simply beyond the reach of conventional acoustic design. Dialogue is reproduced with exceptional clarity and tonal accuracy, while music and film soundtracks benefit from the same freedom from coloration that makes the R Series with MAT one of the most critically acclaimed speaker families of recent years.
12th Generation Uni-Q Driver Array
At the heart of the R6 Meta is KEF’s 12th Generation Uni-Q driver array, comprising a 25mm vented aluminium dome tweeter with MAT positioned at the acoustic centre of a 125mm aluminium cone midrange driver. This coaxial configuration allows both drivers to radiate from a single acoustic point source, enlarging the sweet spot and dispersing sound more evenly across the listening area than conventional multi-driver designs. The R6 Meta shares the same sized Uni-Q array as the rest of the R Series range, ensuring perfect tonal matching across the entire system and a seamless, coherent presentation from left to right across the soundstage.
Twin Hybrid Aluminium Bass Drivers for True Bass Definition
Two 165mm hybrid aluminium bass drivers provide the R6 Meta with the low-frequency authority and dynamic impact required to anchor the most demanding home theatre soundstages with conviction. The hybrid aluminium cone construction delivers greater driver excursion than conventional designs, enabling tight, deep, and controlled bass reproduction down to a typical in-room response of 40Hz at minus 6dB. With a maximum output of 111dB, a sensitivity of 88dB at 2.83V/1m, and a recommended amplifier power range of 15 to 250 watts, the R6 Meta is a genuinely capable and versatile centre channel that rewards the use of quality amplification.
