Luxman L-505Z Integrated Amplifier & Sonus faber Olympica Nova II Floorstanding Speaker Bundle
Our Latest Amplification Feedback Engine Brings Music to Life with LIFES Version 1.0
The L-505Z, like the L-509Z and L-507Z, is equipped with LUXMAN’s LIFES high-quality amplification feedback engine, a key feature in the brand’s next-generation amplifier designs. Evolving from the revolutionary ODNF feedback circuitry, LIFES achieves excellent static characteristics without feeding back any of the musical input signal to the main amplifier, resulting in a natural sound signature similar to a non-feedback system. The circuit has been redesigned from the ground up through extensive simulations and listening tests, refining performance while simplifying the structure.
In LIFES Version 1.0, distortion during amplification has been reduced to less than half of previous models. The output stage employs a parallel push-pull configuration with bipolar transistor elements, achieving robust Class AB power of 100W+100W (8Ω) and 150W+150W (4Ω).
Electronically Controlled Attenuator LECUA
The volume control system is crucial to both sound performance and functionality. The L-505Z is equipped with LUXMAN’s original LECUA electronically controlled attenuator, which has been significantly downsized through a solid-state (IC) circuit design. This advanced level control system minimizes variations in audio quality while allowing precise, smooth volume adjustments over 88 steps. LR balance adjustment also operates via LECUA’s volume shift function. Despite its multitasking capabilities, LECUA ensures consistent sound quality across the entire volume range while offering an intuitive rotary knob that provides a weighty, tactile response. It can also be conveniently operated via the included remote control.
Discrete Buffer Circuitry for Preamplifier
A powerful preamp section is essential to delivering energy-rich signal output. The L-505Z features discrete buffer circuitry at the preamp’s output, maintaining signal fidelity while significantly enhancing the power amplifier’s driving energy. The input selector switch controls a switching IC with excellent separation and low crosstalk. As part of LUXMAN’s Generation Z series, the L-505Z achieves a new level of musicality that far exceeds its class. Additionally, for vinyl enthusiasts, a high-quality MM/MC phono EQ amp circuit ensures exceptional analog playback.
Highly Regulated Power Supply Circuit
A strong power supply is the foundation of high-performance amplification. The L-505Z employs LUXMAN’s traditional, highly stable 540VA large-capacity EI-type power transformer, paired with four custom-made 10,000μF filter capacitors. This combination delivers the instantaneous energy required for dynamic musical passages while maintaining a stable voltage supply under varying load conditions.
Large Needle VU Meter and 7-Segment LED Display
Equipped with large, highly visible needle-type VU meters with white LED backlighting that smoothly track changes in music signals, the L-505Z rivals LUXMAN’s higher-end models in terms of quality. Additionally, a newly integrated 7-segment LED level display between the meters allows users to check the current volume from their listening position. The remote control allows users to turn the meter lighting and LED display on or off as desired.
High-Quality Headphone Output with Independent Grounding
For an immersive personal listening experience, the L-505Z includes high-quality headphone playback functions. In addition to a standard 6.3mm terminal, it features a 4.4mm balanced headphone terminal with independent left and right ground wiring. This significantly improves left-to-right separation, providing an enhanced three-dimensional soundstage when using compatible headphones.
Versatile Connectivity and Features
The L-505Z offers various tone control options, loudness adjustment, LR balance control, and a separate function that enables bi-amp configurations or integration with an AV amplifier. The rear panel features 18mm pitch RCA input/output terminals, supporting high-quality cables with large plugs. The robust speaker terminals, arranged in-line for equal LR characteristics, are compatible with both Y-lugs and banana plugs.
LUXMAN’s Signature Audio Engineering
The L-505Z prioritizes sound quality in every detail. The non-angled wiring on circuit boards ensures smooth current transmission, while “Bee-Line” construction optimizes component layout for the shortest, most logical signal path. Internal OFC copper wiring with spiral wrap shielding preserves natural signal transmission, and the loop-less chassis design suppresses ground impedance increases, contributing to cleaner sound reproduction.
Multi-Functional Remote Control
A substantial and ergonomic aluminum remote control is included, offering convenient operation of the L-505Z as well as compatible LUXMAN CD players released after 1996.

Sonus faber Olympica Nova II
Since 1983, many moments have marked the history of Sonus faber; the launch of the Olympica Collection in 2013 is one of them.
The Essence of a Brand
The original Olympica collection was one of the first lines presented as a complete family of products. And above all, it was the very first to feature original drivers, entirely designed within the Sonus faber “household”.
The All-New Olympica Nova
Olympica Nova is the second generation of that iconic product family of 2013. Improved in both its form and substance, the Olympica Nova range is imbued with the timeless values that inspired Sonus ƒaber in creating the original line.
The result is an entirely new collection of loud-speakers that embrace some of the most advanced Sonus ƒaber technologies and workmanship.
The First Floor-Standing Option
Olympica Nova II is the smallest floor stander of the collection,
but it expresses everything needed to satisfy the most demanding of acoustic requirements. The eye is first drawn to the distinctive shape of the Olympica Nova II. And the lack of flat and parallel walls improves enclosure performance and maintains the typical asymmetrical Lute form of first generation Olympica.
The asymmetrical shape of the cabinet is an original design concept that allows versatile positioning of the speakers to tune the bass response in any room.
Inspired by nature, the lines follow the flow of a circular spiral motion, achieving a more organic cabinet structure.
The reflex duct further improves the speed and transparency of sound.
KEY FEATURES:
- 3-way, compact, high-end, passive loudspeakers
- Floorstanding
- Output well-suited to mid-sized spaces
- Made in Italy
Our thought on the Luxman L-505Z Integrated Amplifier & Sonus faber Olympica Nova II Floorstanding Speakers Bundle:
- A versatile floorstander for medium spaces.
- The finish meets the most fastidious of interior design values.
