Rega Planar 6 RS Turntable
Advanced Rega Engineering
The Planar 6 RS Edition brings key engineering features from the Planar 8 to the classic Rega form factor with a smoked dustcover. Its ultra lightweight, highly rigid plinth provides an ideal platform for the precision RB880 tonearm and factory fitted Nd9 Reference moving magnet cartridge.
Ultra Lightweight Plinth
The Tancast 8 foam core plinth combines a highly rigid HP laminate with a brushed aluminium metal skin and matching edging. This lightweight construction reduces resonance while providing the rigidity required to support the turntable’s advanced components.
RB880 Precision Tonearm
Developed using 3D CAD technology and almost 40 years of Rega tonearm design experience, the RB880 features an aluminium vertical bearing housing, stainless steel sleeve and stainless steel vertical bearing shaft. Its advanced tonearm tube intelligently redistributes mass to reduce potential resonance, while precision hand matched bearing assemblies provide stable, nearly friction free movement. Rega low capacitance phono cables with high specification phono plugs are included.
Nd9 Reference Moving Magnet Cartridge
The hand assembled Nd9 uses an advanced fine line nude diamond profile bonded to a boron rod cantilever for exceptional detail retrieval. Its generator geometry is designed with precise symmetry to deliver highly accurate channel balance.
Precision Motor and Drive System
A hand tuned 24 V low noise synchronous motor drives the aluminium sub platter through an upgraded CNC machined twin drive pulley and two Rega Reference EBLT drive belts. Each motor is matched to the Neo MK2 power supply to minimise vibration and optimise speed accuracy.
Neo MK2 Power Supply
The custom matched Neo MK2 turntable power supply provides electronic speed change, user controlled fine speed adjustment and an advanced motor vibration reduction circuit. It reduces motor noise while improving speed stability and rotational accuracy.
Double Brace Technology
The double brace system strengthens the plinth between the tonearm mounting and main hub bearing, creating a rigid stressed beam assembly. Double thickness phenolic resin is used in these critical areas to reduce energy absorption, unwanted resonance and the transmission of motor or bearing noise.
