Solid Long-Grain Copper Conductors
Pearl USB uses Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductors for smoother and clearer sound compared to standard OFHC copper. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a significant source of distortion. With fewer impurities and grain boundaries, LGC provides a more consistent electrical pathway, resulting in improved signal integrity and overall performance.
Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation
Traditional shielding methods often drain captured radio-frequency interference directly to ground, which can distort the critical reference plane of connected components. AudioQuest’s Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation system “shields the shield,” absorbing and reflecting noise before it reaches the ground layer. This reduces RF modulation and helps preserve signal purity.
Hard-Cell Foam Insulation
Hard-Cell Foam (HCF) insulation maintains critical signal-pair geometry while reducing energy absorption. Nitrogen-injected to create air pockets, HCF minimises stored and released energy that can lead to distortion. The rigidity of the material also ensures stable impedance characteristics along the entire cable length.
Direction-Controlled Conductors
All drawn metal conductors have directional grain structures. AudioQuest controls RF impedance variation so that noise is drained away from sensitive circuitry. Arrows on the connectors indicate the optimal direction for installation, ensuring correct metal-directionality and shield configuration for superior system performance.
