A New Reference, Born from the KT170
The Jadis I-70 is the most ambitious integrated amplifier Jadis has ever produced, conceived as a compact reference design of increased performance that draws directly from the company’s monoblock amplifier technology. Its development was initiated by the arrival of the KT170 output tube, a powerful new valve whose characteristics inspired the entire I-70 project. Rather than simply exploiting the KT170’s raw power, Jadis chose a different approach: selecting an operating point that prioritises the reduction of distortion over maximum output, resulting in an amplifier that delivers 50 watts per channel with a purity, accuracy, and emotional depth that places it in a different category from any previous Jadis integrated design.
Monoblock Technology in an Integrated Chassis
The I-70 is the first Jadis integrated amplifier to incorporate several technologies drawn directly from the company’s reference monoblock designs. Most significantly, the power stage features a fully independent, separated power supply, completely isolating it from the driver stage and ensuring that 100% of the available power supply capacity is devoted to the output stage without compromise or interference from elsewhere in the circuit. Stabilised filament voltage further eliminates induced noise that would otherwise degrade the purity of the signal path. This architectural approach, previously reserved for Jadis’ most expensive monoblock separates, gives the I-70 a degree of circuit independence and sonic cleanliness that is genuinely exceptional in an integrated amplifier of any price.
Hand-Made Transformers and Point-to-Point Wiring
The I-70 is designed in the purest tradition of Jadis craftsmanship, employing point-to-point wiring and hand-made transformers throughout. A massive power transformer has been specifically designed to deliver the dynamic headroom and pulse power that the I-70’s musical ambitions demand. The output transformer, an entirely new Jadis design developed specifically for the I-70, operates in a single push-pull ultra-linear configuration with a triple load arrangement, working with two KT170 tubes per channel to extract the full tonal and dynamic potential of this exceptional valve. The result is a bandwidth extending from 10Hz to 36kHz, a soundstage of remarkable structure and depth, and a tonal richness that shimmers with detail and musical truth across every register.

The I-70 provides five line-level inputs, a bypass output, and dual speaker outputs supporting bi-wiring configurations, alongside automatic bias management for effortless tube maintenance. With a power consumption of 500VA and a weight of 40kg, the I-70’s substantial physical presence reflects the quality of transformer iron and point-to-point construction within. At 400 x 400 x 255mm it is compact for an amplifier of its capability, and the remote control included as standard ensures convenient operation from the listening position.
