Description
Jadis I-50 Integrated Tube Amplifier
The Best of Traditional Tube Sound in Its Most Modern Form
The Jadis I-50 is a 50-watt pure Class A integrated tube amplifier that represents a landmark achievement in the Jadis range, combining the company’s uncompromising commitment to tube amplification with a completely unprecedented circuit design built specifically around the exceptional KT150 output tube. While it has been widely assumed since the 1980s that tube technology is obsolete, Jadis has always held the conviction that tube amplification reproduces sound of the highest possible quality, and the I-50 is the most compelling proof of that conviction the company has yet produced. With 50 watts per channel of pure Class A power, a USB digital input, autobias, and a remote control as standard, the I-50 combines the very best of traditional tube quality in its most thoroughly modern form.
The KT150: An Unprecedented Output Tube
The I-50 was born from Jadis’ discovery of the KT150 output tube, a genuinely new development in power tube technology that immediately captivated the Jadis engineering team with the quality of its bass reproduction and the extraordinary detail and authority that accompanied its obvious power. The KT150 is fundamentally incompatible with other power tube types including the KT90 and KT88, making the I-50 a completely unprecedented design within the Jadis range. Specific output transformers, designed and wound by hand in-house by Jadis as always, were required to fully exploit the KT150’s unique characteristics, and the entire circuit schema was adapted accordingly. The result is an integrated amplifier of 50 watts per channel in pure Class A, a power output that places the I-50 in a class above the existing Jadis integrated amplifier range while retaining the warmth, dimensionality, and musical truth that define the Jadis sound.
Modern Connectivity Without Compromise
In keeping with contemporary listening habits, the I-50 includes a USB digital input alongside its four line-level analogue inputs, allowing direct connection to a computer for high-quality digital audio playback without the need for an external DAC. Two speaker output terminals support bi-wiring configurations for compatible loudspeakers, and autobias management ensures consistent optimal operating conditions throughout the life of the output tubes without manual adjustment. An input sensitivity of 110mV, a bandwidth of 20Hz to 20kHz, and a power consumption of 300VA complete the specification of an amplifier that at 32kg and 485 x 345 x 245mm reflects the substantial transformer iron and chassis construction that Jadis has always brought to its most serious designs.
Tube Technology, Very Much Alive
Visually, the I-50 sits naturally alongside the existing Jadis integrated amplifier family, sharing the same refined and purposeful aesthetic as the DA30, DA50, and I-35. Beneath that familiar exterior, however, lies an amplifier of entirely new architecture, driven by a tube that pushes the boundaries of what contemporary valve technology can achieve. The I-50 is Jadis’ definitive statement that tube amplification is not a technology of the past, but one that continues to evolve, innovate, and deliver a quality of musical reproduction that no other amplification technology has surpassed.
