This premium bundle combines the McIntosh MA252 Integrated Amplifier with a pair of Sonus faber Lumina V Amator floorstanding speakers. McIntosh hybrid amplification and refined Italian loudspeaker craftsmanship come together to create an elegant and engaging two channel music system.
McIntosh Hybrid Drive Technology
The MA252 combines a vacuum tube preamplifier with a direct coupled solid state power amplifier. Two 12AX7A and two 12AT7 vacuum tubes provide the preamplification, while the solid state output stage delivers power, control and immediate operating performance.
Powerful Two Channel Performance
The MA252 delivers 100 W per channel into 8 ohms or 160 W per channel into 4 ohms. Advanced high current output transistors are connected to McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks, allowing the amplifier to reach peak operating condition from the moment it is switched on.
Sonus faber Lumina V Amator
The Lumina V Amator is a slender 3 way floorstanding speaker that builds upon the original Lumina V with upgraded technology and refreshed design details. The Amator name represents a special Sonus faber tradition associated with unique and engaging loudspeaker designs.
Designed and Made in Italy
Crafted at the Sonus faber factory in Vicenza, Italy, the Lumina V Amator combines wood and leather with the clean squared form of the Lumina collection. New front panels feature 45 degree woodgrain lacquered veneers for a distinctive and sophisticated presentation.
Three Way Driver Configuration
A 29 mm high definition DAD tweeter is partnered with a 150 mm paper cone midrange driver and two 165 mm bass drivers featuring a sandwich diaphragm structure. This dedicated driver arrangement allows each section of the frequency range to be reproduced by a purpose designed component.
Upgraded Crossover Technology
The Lumina V Amator crossover incorporates solutions derived from the development of the Sonus faber Amati G5 and Guarneri G5. Crossover frequencies are set at 260 Hz and 2850 Hz, supporting precise integration between the bass, midrange and high frequency drivers.
Power Guard Speaker Protection
McIntosh Power Guard monitors the amplifier output for signs of excessive drive and makes real time adjustments to prevent harsh clipping that could damage the speakers. If Power Guard activates, the vacuum tubes associated with the affected channel illuminate amber before returning to green when clipping has stopped.
Flexible Analogue Connectivity
The MA252 provides two unbalanced inputs, one balanced input and one Moving Magnet phono input for a turntable. Each input can be assigned a custom name, while bass, treble, balance and input offset controls allow the system to be tailored to personal preferences.
Expand Your Listening System
A full range subwoofer output allows a powered subwoofer to be added for extended low frequency performance. A High Drive headphone amplifier provides a dedicated option for private listening, while the included remote control offers convenient access to essential settings.
