The Sonus faber Olympica V G3 is the flagship of the Olympica collection and a true expression of Sonus faber’s Natural Sound signature. A sonic marvel of three-way design, the Olympica V boasts three woofers for powerful low frequencies that, combined with exceptional mid-high frequency performance, deliver detailed, warm, and enchanting sound across the full audible spectrum. The asymmetrical lute-shaped cabinet minimises internal resonances for pure, uncoloured sound, and the front baffle and cabinet sides are finished in hand-finished natural walnut or wenge wood veneer, complemented by grey matte sandblasted metal parts in an evolution of design that is as refined as the acoustic engineering within.
Camelia Midrange Driver
At the heart of the Olympica V G3 is the Camelia midrange driver, originally developed for the Suprema and crafted to reproduce the most essential part of the acoustic spectrum with exceptional resolution. Inspired by the natural geometry of the camellia flower, its non-circular membrane reduces unwanted resonances while offering its full surface to the listener. The result is remarkable transparency, vocal realism, and the unmistakable natural sound that defines Sonus faber at its finest.
Cork Damping Structure
In the Olympica V G3, the tweeter and midrange drivers are housed in a dedicated closed acoustic chamber designed to enhance driver performance. This internal volume is damped with a specific cork structure, developed through computer simulations and shaped into an organic form. Natural and sustainable, cork plays a key role in improving resolution and preserving the natural character of the midrange, ensuring that the Olympica V G3 reproduces the critical vocal and instrumental range with purity and musical authenticity throughout.
Refined Aluminium Details and Flagship Sonic Performance
The Olympica V G3 evolves toward a more refined and contemporary aesthetic through matte grey sandblasted aluminium elements, enriched by polished 45-degree chamfers that add a subtle touch of brightness and sophistication to the overall design. Its three-way vented box architecture with midrange sealed cork enclosure delivers a frequency response of 37Hz to 40,000Hz with a sensitivity of 90dB at 2.83V/1m, providing the most powerful and authoritative sonic expression in the Olympica collection, with deep, controlled bass and exceptional clarity across every register.
