Accuphase DP-470 CD Player
A New Generation of Accuphase CD Playback
The Accuphase DP-470 succeeds the DP-450, combining dedicated CD playback with an upgraded digital processing section and wider USB audio support. Drawing on decades of Accuphase digital audio development, it is designed both for listeners with an established CD collection and for systems that also use a computer or network audio source.
Quiet, Stable Disc Playback
The disc mechanism uses elastic dampers to isolate the optical pickup from unwanted vibration. A substantial cover built in three layers helps contain mechanical noise, while an eight-pole neodymium chucking magnet holds the disc securely during rotation. The machined aluminium tray opens smoothly and quietly, with a gold anodised finish and updated controls inspired by Accuphase’s higher models.
ESS Conversion with MDS+ and ANCC
The DP-470 uses ESS ES9026PRO DAC technology with four conversion circuits operating in parallel per channel. Accuphase’s MDS+ arrangement is combined with ANCC circuitry, which detects and cancels noise and distortion in the current-to-voltage conversion stage. Careful component placement, separation of digital and analogue circuits, and dedicated analogue power supply circuitry further support clean signal handling.
The Direct Balanced Filter provides independent paths for the RCA line and balanced XLR outputs. A rear-panel phase selector allows the balanced connection to be matched to the partnering amplifier.
High Resolution USB DAC Capability
A USB Type B input lets a compatible computer or network player use the DP-470’s internal DAC. USB supports PCM up to 384 kHz at 32 bits, DSD up to 11.2 MHz via DoP, and DSD up to 22.5 MHz via native ASIO with compatible playback software and drivers.
Coaxial and optical inputs accommodate other digital sources. Separate coaxial and optical transport outputs also allow connection to an external DAC or a compatible Accuphase voicing equaliser.
Convenient Control for Everyday Listening
The supplied RC-150 remote provides convenient access to playback functions. Programmable playback lets you choose the running order of your tracks, while the display shows sampling frequency and bit depth. Adjustable output level helps match the player to other sources in your system.
