The ATC SCM20ASL is a flagship 2 way stand mount active loudspeaker designed for exceptional performance in modestly sized rooms. Its sealed cabinet, proprietary ATC drive units and precisely matched amplification deliver outstanding clarity, timing, control and dynamic range.
Renowned ATC Drive Units
The SCM20ASL combines a 150 mm SB75 150SL mid and bass driver with a 25 mm SH25 76S soft dome tweeter. Both drive units are designed and manufactured by ATC in the United Kingdom, sharing a common engineering philosophy for seamless integration across the frequency range.
Precision Sealed Cabinet
The sealed cabinet design supports accurate timing and controlled low frequency performance below the cutoff point. Its heavy and inert construction uses internal bracing for stiffness, damping to suppress resonance and bitumastic panels in critical locations to minimise cabinet colouration.
Precisely Matched Active Amplification
Each SCM20ASL incorporates a 250 W amplifier pack mounted to the rear of the cabinet. A 200 W amplifier powers the mid and bass driver, while a dedicated 50 W amplifier powers the high frequency driver.
Active Crossover Architecture
A balanced input feeds a second order Linkwitz Riley active electronic crossover, which directs the signal to two Class A/B power amplifiers tailored to the requirements of their respective drive units. The active crossover provides precise control of level and timing without relying on a conventional passive crossover.
Greater Control and Dynamic Range
Direct coupling between the amplifiers and drive units improves control and dynamic performance. This carefully integrated architecture allows the speaker, crossover and amplification to operate as one complete system.
Flexible System Matching
The SCM20ASL can be partnered with a suitable preamplifier, digital to analogue converter with volume control or streaming preamplifier. Adjustable input sensitivity and bass shelf controls assist with integration into different systems and listening environments.
