Coffee USB features solid 10% silver-plated Long-Grain Copper conductors. Because high-frequency USB signals travel primarily on the surface of the conductor, increasing the silver thickness at the surface delivers meaningful performance improvements. Solid conductors minimise strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter, helping preserve signal clarity and dynamic expression.
Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation
AudioQuest’s Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation System (NDS) goes beyond traditional shielding. Instead of allowing captured radio-frequency interference to drain directly to ground, alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetics absorb and reflect noise before it reaches the ground-connected layer. This approach helps prevent distortion caused by RF contamination of the system’s reference plane.
72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS)
The 72V Dielectric-Bias System reduces dielectric involvement—where insulation materials absorb and release energy, causing phase shift and timing errors. By maintaining a constant bias across the insulation, DBS minimises time-based distortion and soundstage smearing. An integrated RF Trap ensures that radio-frequency noise is not induced into the signal conductors from the DBS field elements.
Hard-Cell Foam Insulation
Hard-Cell Foam (HCF) insulation maintains precise signal-pair geometry while reducing energy absorption.
