Description
Kerr Acoustic K100 Mk.2 Reference Floorstanding Loudspeaker
The New Standard in Critical Listening and Professional Monitoring
The Kerr Acoustic K100 Mk.2 is a large-format three-way reference loudspeaker designed to set a new standard in both professional monitoring and critical listening. Offering an uncompromised frequency response from 16Hz to 45kHz, the K100 is a true reference monitor capable of effortlessly reproducing any programme material with total ease and accuracy, whether deployed in a professional mix or mastering studio or at the heart of an uncompromising personal listening system. Constructed exclusively from 24mm Baltic Birch plywood, the K100’s cabinet combines exceptional strength and rigidity with cutting-edge driver technology for uncoloured and vivid musical playback at all listening levels.
Three-Way Driver Array of Exceptional Capability
The K100 Mk.2’s three-way driver complement represents a purposefully matched combination of technologies selected for maximum accuracy and minimum colouration. A 310mm high-performance long-throw woofer with Radial intercooler technology handles the low frequencies, extending to a remarkable 16Hz and providing the full weight and physical impact of the lowest recorded content with effortless composure. A 75mm low-distortion dome midrange driver with an 8kg magnet assembly reproduces the critical vocal and instrumental midrange band with exceptional clarity and resolution, crossing over to an 80mm true ribbon tweeter with a diaphragm mass of just 0.036 grams. The ribbon tweeter’s extraordinarily low mass enables it to resolve the finest high-frequency detail with a speed, air, and transparency that conventional dome tweeters cannot match, extending the K100’s response to 45kHz.
Mk.2 Crossover Improvements
The Mk.2 update brings significant improvements to the internal passive crossover networks, delivering a smoother and more linear response throughout the upper midband and high frequencies. Second-order 12dB per octave crossover slopes at 370Hz and 3.6kHz ensure a coherent transition between all three driver units. The improvements allow the K100 Mk.2 to convey an even greater sense of depth and spatial information, while simultaneously reducing glare and listener fatigue during extended critical listening or mixing sessions.
Exceptional Craftsmanship and Finish Options
The K100 Mk.2 is available in a range of real wood veneer finishes including Oak and Walnut, as well as satin or high-gloss lacquer in any RAL colour, with colour matching available for custom installation requirements. Magnetic grilles and threaded M8 spikes are supplied as standard. A single pair of 4mm copper 5-way binding posts provides the speaker terminal connection, and at 78kg per cabinet and 1,268 x 348 x 550mm, the K100 Mk.2 is a substantial and commanding presence in any listening room.
