The Anthem STR Preamplifier is a new type of audio component that combines the benefits of a high-resolution preamplifier with the processing power of a dedicated room correction platform, a reference-grade DAC, comprehensive analogue connectivity, and advanced bass management in a single, elegantly designed chassis. At its core is the latest and most powerful generation of Anthem Room Correction (ARC), with 50% more processing power than any previous version, automatically shaping the acoustic signature of your speakers and subwoofers for the best possible performance in your specific listening space.
The digital section supports asynchronous USB audio up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD 2.8/5.6MHz, with a dedicated asynchronous 32-bit/192kHz sample rate converter that optimises the DAC stage’s anti-imaging filter for every input resolution while reclocking the data to provide immunity from source jitter. Thin film high-precision resistors and ultra-low-noise op-amps are used throughout the DAC stage for the lowest possible distortion and most transparent sound. Two colossal dedicated toroidal transformers, one per channel in a true dual-mono configuration, provide a continuous supply of pure, clean, low-noise power with minimised supply impedance and internal cabling inductance, ensuring the amplifier channels deliver stable, continuous power at maximum output without affecting one another regardless of loudspeaker impedance.
The proprietary cascoded complementary feedback input stage employs eight low-noise bipolar input devices in a complementary active-load cascoded feedback arrangement, with transistors in critical stages hand-selected and matched for the lowest possible distortion, delivering an exceptionally linear response and superior bandwidth.
