The Furman AC-210A E is a compact two-outlet power conditioner that combines Furman’s most advanced surge suppression and AC filtering technologies in an exceptionally small and versatile chassis. SMP: Series Multi-Stage Protection
Furman’s SMP surge suppression technology virtually eliminates service calls by addressing the fundamental limitation of conventional sacrificial surge suppressors. Traditional surge protection circuits sacrifice themselves when exposed to multiple transient voltage spikes, requiring system dismantling and suppressor repair or replacement. With SMP, damaging transient voltages are safely absorbed, clamped, and dissipated without any sacrificed components, service calls, or system downtime. The AC-210A E’s SMP clamps at 376VAC peak and 275VAC RMS even when tested with multiple 6,000VAC and 3,000-amp surges, a clamping voltage unmatched by any competing technology and achievable only through Furman’s SMP circuit design. Zero ground contamination circuitry ensures that surge suppression activity does not contaminate the equipment ground and corrupt critical digital components.
LiFT: Linear Filtering Technology
Conventional AC filter and conditioner designs have been engineered for unrealistic laboratory conditions, and under real-world operating conditions their resonant peaking and non-linear behaviour can actually add more than 10dB of noise to the incoming AC line, worsening performance rather than improving it. Furman’s LiFT takes a fundamentally different approach, providing linear AC noise attenuation of greater than 40dB at 100kHz and greater than 50dB at 500kHz across a linear attenuation curve from 0.05 to 100 ohms line impedance. The result is genuinely clean AC power that reveals the audio and video system’s true capability without the masking effect of line noise.
EVS: Extreme Voltage Shutdown
The AC-210A E’s Extreme Voltage Shutdown circuitry provides automatic protection against accidental connection to extreme voltages, shutting off the incoming power supply at 275VAC and holding it off until the overvoltage condition has been corrected. Auto-reset functionality ensures the unit returns to normal operation automatically once the supply voltage returns to a safe level, without requiring manual intervention. A circuit breaker provides additional overcurrent protection, and LED indicators on the unit provide clear information on power quality and operational status at a glance.
