The Furman CN-3600S E is a 16-amp SmartSequencing power conditioner designed specifically for commercial AV installations in 220V to 240V regions, combining robust system control via Furman’s SmartSequencing technology with advanced AC surge protection and linear noise filtration. One of the first products to feature Furman’s SmartSequencing technology, the CN-3600S E allows large and complex AV systems to be safely powered on and off with a simple button press or key turn, even by non-technical personnel, making it an essential component for any professionally installed multi-zone electronic system where reliable, sequenced power management is a critical requirement.
SmartSequencing Technology: Safe, Intelligent Power Control
SmartSequencing’s bidirectional communications between installed units enables a primary CN-3600S E to control and sequence multiple secondary units, ensuring multi-zone electronic systems are powered on and off safely and dependably from a single control point across an entire installation. Units can be interconnected via current loop at cable runs of more than 1,000 feet, with full backwards compatibility with Furman’s legacy sequencer products. Three sequenced IEC C13 outlet pairs are each controlled by a separate relay, with configurable delay options of 1, 2, or 4 minutes available via front panel DIP switches, alongside fine-tune delay adjustment via a front panel potentiometer. A front panel three-position keyswitch and RS-232 ports with a full command set provide further integration with control systems, open source platforms, and custom control programming.
Series Multi-Stage Protection and Extreme Voltage Shutdown
The CN-3600S E’s Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) technology provides the highest level of surge and spike protection available, clamping at 375V peak from a 6,000V/3,000A input surge with a response time of 1 nanosecond and a maximum surge current handling of 6,500 amps. Protection operates in line-to-neutral mode with zero ground leakage, ensuring surge suppression activity does not contaminate the equipment ground or corrupt critical digital components. Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS) circuitry provides automatic protection against both undervoltage conditions below 175VAC and overvoltage conditions above 275VAC, with configurable auto-reset or manual-reset modes to suit the requirements of each installation.
Linear Filtering Technology and Comprehensive Diagnostics
Furman’s Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT) provides AC noise attenuation of 10dB at 10kHz, 40dB at 100kHz, and 50dB at 500kHz across a linear attenuation curve, reducing AC noise consistently across a wide bandwidth for unequalled audio and video clarity throughout the connected system. Nine IEC C13 outlets are provided in total, comprising one unswitched rear panel pair, three sequenced rear panel pairs each controlled by a separate relay, and one unswitched front panel outlet. Comprehensive front panel diagnostic indicators covering primary link, secondary link, Ethernet, remote off, delay status, power, Protection OK, and Extreme Voltage status provide valuable real-time system information. A 20-amp thermal circuit breaker and 12V trigger input and output complete the CN-3600S E’s specification as a thoroughly capable and professionally engineered power management solution.
